While most football fans are counting down the days until the World Cup kicks off in Russia, here at Thomas Westcott we’re more excited about a grassroots cup competition much closer to home…

In March teams from HM Naval Base and Plymouth Argyle Football In The Community (FITC) will take to the field to decide who wins the coveted Devon Midweek Cup – a competition we have proudly sponsored for the last four years!

Over the last few months teams from all over the county have gone head to head in a series of high-drama matches organised by the Devon County FA to get to the final stage.

And though the crowds in Russia are going to be slightly larger than at the hallowed turf of Coach Road in Newton Abbot, where the Devon Midweek Cup takes place, we reckon the football spectacle will be just as exciting!

Joking aside, we couldn’t be prouder to be supporting grassroots sport in Devon and we thank the team at Devon FA for all its hard work supporting football at all levels across the County.

So please do come down to support both teams when they meet on Wednesday, March 21, at County HQ in Coach Road, Newton Abbot, kick off 7.15pm, where our Torquay-based partner Sean Smith will present the victorious team with their trophy.
